QUALITY PARAMETERS

Curricular Aspects:

  • Choice Based Credit System has been adopted for both UG and PG courses.
  • Wide range of options with 9 Grant-In-Aid traditional, 8 Self-Financing UG courses, 18 Skill Development Courses and 4 Life skill Courses.
  • Curriculum is designed by keeping APSCHE prescribed syllabus in view and also fine-tuned to meet the demands of knowledge acquisition, skill enhancement and industry requirements.
  • Syllabus is revised and updated from time to time according to local and contemporary relevance.
  • Feedback obtained through questionnaires, opinions and meetings from students, alumni and visitors is considered during curriculum design.
  • Courses like Personality Enhancement & Leadership, communication skills are included as mandatory for all-round development of the students.
  • Introduced Human Values and Professional Ethics as mandatory subject to inculcate Ethics and values in students.

Teaching-Learning and Evaluation:

  • Admissions are made as per the rules and regulations framed by Govt. of Andhra Pradesh through OAMDC.
  • 90% of the enrolled students are getting government scholarships. Poor and meritorious students are awarded with endowment scholarships sponsored by management, Alumni etc.
  • Remedial coaching for slow learners and beyond the syllabus inputs to advanced learners.
  • Transparent teacher selection process, healthy academic ambience is maintained to retain the talent.
  • Guest faculty are invited for beyond syllabus coverage to provide additional inputs to students.
  • E-classrooms, digital class rooms are used for innovative practices. Blended mode of teaching and learning is made into practice.
  • Mentoring and counselling system is adopted. Every teacher is allotted with 40 students and the teacher act as counselor, mentor and advisor. Women students are placed under the special care of women faculty. Academic progress is monitored by these mentors.
  • Assignments/seminars/study projects are made mandatory with due weightage.
  • Any grievance regarding evaluation, particularly internal assessment is first dealt by the teacher concerned and forwarded to the Grievances Committee and the Principal.
  • Normally the End Semester Examination results are published within 45 days after completion of the examinations.
  • Transparency and awareness in evaluation procedure make the entire system student centered.

Research, Consultancy and Extension:

  • The Institution has research contribution at both regional and national level.
  • There are 13 (Thirteen) doctorates including significant number of research supervisors on rolls.

  • 4 NSS volunteers participated in RD and 16 in Pre-RD parades.
  • 70 NCC cadets with “C” certificates and 210 with “B” certificates.
  • 4 NCC cadets participated in Independence Day celebrations at Secunderabad.
  • Women Empowerment Cell aims to provide necessary counseling and guidance by professional women counselors and NGOs, so that the women students gain psychological strength to courageously face the problems in their day to day life.

Infrastructure and Learning Resources:

  • The college campus has 7.42 acres with a built in area of 1,09,778 sq ft. covering 59 class rooms, 3 Digital Classrooms, 1 Virtual Classroom, 33 highly equipped laboratories, administrative buildings, library, seminar hall, staff & student rooms, canteen, Washrooms etc.
  • 2.5 acre playground is provide for indoor and outdoor games along with Gym facility.
  • State-of-the-art infrastructure in laboratories, research centers, seminar halls, e-classrooms, digital classrooms, ITC Centre, computer center and library.
  • 3000 sq.ft of college library with a seating capacity of 85 students is provided which works for 10 hours on week days and 7 hours on holidays. Each and every department also has well-stocked library with sufficient e-resources.
  • Broadband internet connectivity to all the departments.
  • Indira Gandhi Open University Study center facilitates the students to pursue add on courses in distance mode.

Student Support and Progression:

  • Student mentoring is an integral institutional activity.
  • Special care is taken for slow learners by conducting remedial classes and additional inputs are provided advanced learners.
  • 90% of the enrolled students are covered under various government scholarships.
  • 32 merit and endowment scholarships with Rs.14,38,353 fund.
  • 40% of students join to higher education.
  • Sizable number of placements in corporate sector and state & central services.
  • College is decorated with Overall Champion for Two times and All Round Champion in women category for three times consecutively in intercollegiate sports & games meet.
  • Large number of students participated in extracurricular activities at South Zone and National Level.
  • Sai Benevolent Fund provides financial aid to the needy students.
  • Women Empowerment Cell working continuously for empowering women students.
  • Career Development Cell is aimed to offer extensive career services and guide students to think in terms of career where they can excel their inherent potential. It offers career counselling, job and internship fairs, resume and cover letter critiques.

Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC):

  • The cell has been established to coordinate and monitor various academic aspects like seminars and workshops being conducted by various departments of the college from time to time. The academic pursuits are constantly assessed by an expert committee of the cell consisting of eminent academics and the intellectual elite. The committee recommends ways and means for achieving sustenance in quality education and skill enhancement. It also emphasizes the importance of creating conducive conditions for h ealthy teaching and learning activities on the campus
